Michelle Parker: A Life on Skis

Kolby Seemann

Michelle Parker has spent her life in motion—charging big lines, navigating backcountry terrain, and redefining what’s possible in the world of freeskiing. Her style is unmistakable: powerful, graceful, and fearless. But what makes Michelle truly stand out isn’t just the way she skis—it’s the way she lives.

Born in Truckee, California, Michelle grew up skiing the slopes of Squaw Valley, cutting her teeth in ski racing before discovering a deeper love for freeskiing. By 15, she had traded race gates for backflips and slopestyle courses, eventually finding her home in big mountain terrain. It was a natural evolution for someone whose passion has always pulled her toward the wildest lines and most remote landscapes.

Since then, Michelle’s career has taken her to the top of the sport—starring in award-winning ski films, partnering with world-class brands like Red Bull, and becoming one of the most recognizable and respected athletes in the outdoor industry.

Shaping a Legacy Beyond the Turns

While her skiing resume is packed with accolades—from standout segments with Redbull and Teton Gravity Research to multiple Best Female Performance awards—Michelle’s legacy isn’t just about her lines on snow. It’s about her impact off it.

She’s a longtime advocate for avalanche education and safety in the backcountry. Through the creation of S.A.F.E. A.S. Clinics (Skiers Advocating and Fostering Avalanche and Snow Safety), Michelle has helped empower more women to explore the mountains with confidence and knowledge. Her commitment to mentorship and education has helped shape a more inclusive and informed ski community—one that values both skill and stewardship.

Collagen, Recovery, and Staying on the Mountain Longer

One of the staples in Michelle’s recovery routine? Collagen.

“It’s one of the few things I’ve stayed consistent with because I truly feel the difference,” she says. “As you age, collagen naturally declines in your body, so supplementing with it is key—especially for joint health and recovery.”

Michelle blends it daily into her favorite banana date smoothie, adding a little cinnamon and cardamom for flavor. It’s a simple ritual, but one that helps her stay strong, agile, and ready to take on the next challenge.

“With almost no joint pain, I feel like I can ski every day with no worries,” she says.

And the science backs her up. Studies have shown that collagen supplementation may support joint health, reduce soreness, and aid in recovery—especially for athletes putting their bodies through consistent impact and stress.

Built to Keep Going

Michelle Parker’s career is defined by more than just first descents and film credits. It’s a reflection of a life built on exploration, curiosity, and resilience. Whether she’s tackling steep spines in Alaska or teaching avalanche safety in her community, her impact runs deep.
